CHENE DE POUTRE
BLANC CRISTAL COMPACT

This kitchen is a perfect example of creating a beautiful room by moulding two styles together - modern meets rustic, chalet look meets town house glamour, this kitchen is an absolute show stopper.

The chalet itself was being renovated; the old kitchen was being extended to include a large dining area, this meant that we could create a large island with cooking space and space to sit, to create a really communal space.

DESIGN OVERVIEW

THE MODERN CHALET LOOK AND FEEL

The colours used in this kitchen really contrasted; the dark anthracite and grey tones of the chene de poutre with the brightness of the top creates the absolute wow factor. This kitchen is handle-less with rail and push to open units, creating an absolutely flawless flat panel modern finish.

Internal mechanisms were aplenty in this kitchen; from pull down mechanisms in the wall cabinets for maximum use of space, to a pull out larder unit with six baskets and cabinet bin drawer mechanism (complete with internal drawer to store bin bags etc.), investing in your kitchen hardware means a maximum use of space within the kitchen, and is in our opinion, worth every penny.

The tall modern mixer tap with douchette attachment, engraved draining board into the sink, and the splashback filling the space between the base and wall cabinets, really adds to the modern feel on the back run of cabinets. The chrome sink and tap match the handlerail openings to ensure that the colours of the space are synchronised.

The hob with integrated extractor in the large island gives plenty of prep space for cooking, and the lined niche in the breakfast bar (wooden fronted shallow cabinets) really adds to the luxurious feel, as well as giving extra storage and providing space to sit three people. The floor to ceiling fit of the cabinets, the vertical aluminium handle rails and the clean lines of the drawer units below the hob, again creates a very modern kitchen, and the lights hanging over the island creates almost an industrial-like effect. A cabinet on the side of the kitchen (built into the wall) with matching door fronts ties everything together.

The appliances in this kitchen are all Bosch; including a full height fridge and a handy built in under counter freezer (with a handy larder unit between), meaning there is no need to leave the kitchen to store food elsewhere. The oven and microwave stack creates an excellent cooking zone, and the hob in the island has a downward extraction which can be easily cleaned and which recycles air back into the room.

The white waterfall top with mitre join and the matching splashback, really adds light to this kitchen which risked ending up to dark with the bank of anthracite units. The symmetry in this kitchen is incredibly pleasing to the eye; combined with the floor and ceiling materials, and the waterfall top, this is one of our favourite designs.
