This kitchen was for a newly renovated shell apartment in St Jean D'aulps. The apartment itself had 3 compact bedrooms, and the kitchen, living and dining space was all one open plan room. The run of units along the back wall included all the necessary requirements for an apartment this size.
The room itself had two sets of large balcony windows which really added to the lightness of this apartment; the use of navy blue doors meant that the kitchen added to the style of the room, without being too imposing or boring.
Navy blue is becoming a very fashionable colour, and this kitchen demonstrates why. THe combination of the navy doors and white worktop creates an incredibly stylish contrast. Navy blue is also a colour that is easy to compliment; perfect for those who want to add their own character and personality to a kitchen, without committing to anything too bold. This client in particular loves pink, and the use of baby pink vases and flowers within the room really highlighted the colours.
This kitchen is a handle-less kitchen in the sense that all drawers and cabinetry can be opened by a niche set back into the cabinet; this flat panel look is very popular and is cheaper than a fully push to open kitchen whilst achieving a similar look.
The table set between the living and kitchen space broke up the room well into zones, whilst also adding a worktop space for cooking preparation if required. The compact worktop had a draining board engraved into it which can be covered if more space is needed for chopping and preparation of food. This is a stylish way to include an undermount sink in to your kitchen design without compromising on the draining. The compact worktop is also an excellent budget choice; slim enough to look more stylish than a thick laminate worktop, but without the expense of natural stone.
